1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of JobRemotely ("we", "us", "our") and the website at https://jobremotely.io (the "Service"). By creating an account, applying to a job, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. We may refuse Service to anyone for any lawful reason at our discretion.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are signing up on behalf of an organization (e.g., a hiring team), you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
You must provide accurate information when you register and keep it up to date. Impersonation, fake profiles, and inflated credentials are grounds for immediate termination.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything that happens under your account. Notify us immediately at security@jobboard.app if you suspect unauthorised access.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or pose a risk to other users.
4. Plans, billing & refunds
JobRemotely offers a Free tier and paid subscriptions ("Premium"). Pricing is shown at our pricing page. Charges are processed by Stripe.
- Recurring billing — Premium renews automatically at the end of each cycle until you cancel.
- Cancellation — you can cancel at any time from your billing page. You keep Premium access until the end of the paid period; no further charges occur.
- Refunds — we offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on your first Premium charge. After that, refunds are not provided unless required by law.
- Price changes — we may update pricing with at least 30 days notice. Active subscriptions keep the price they signed up at for the current cycle.
- Failed payments — if a charge fails, we retry over 14 days, then downgrade your account to Free.
5. Applications & hiring
JobRemotely is a platform that connects candidates with hiring teams. We do not employ candidates and do not guarantee that any application will result in a job offer.
When you apply to a role, you authorise us to share your profile data and application materials with the hiring team. Hiring teams must comply with applicable employment and data protection laws.
Decisions about hiring, compensation, and employment terms are made by hiring teams, not by JobRemotely. We are not liable for the outcomes of those decisions, but we do remove employers who repeatedly mistreat candidates.
6. Your content
You retain ownership of all content you submit to the Service (CVs, profiles, blog posts, application messages). By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, display, and process that content as needed to operate the Service.
You must have the right to submit any content you share. Do not upload material that infringes third-party rights, contains malware, or violates applicable law.
You can delete your content at any time. After deletion we remove it from production systems immediately; copies may persist in encrypted backups for up to 30 days before being purged.
7. Acceptable use
You agree NOT to:
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or circumvent the Service or its rate limits.
- Use the Service to spam, harass, defraud, or discriminate against other users.
- Submit false or misleading job postings or applications.
- Post content that is unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, or violates someone else’s rights.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercialize Service access without our written consent.
- Interfere with the security of the Service or other users’ use of it.
We may remove content and terminate accounts that breach this section.
8. Additional rules for hiring teams
If you post jobs on JobRemotely, you additionally agree to:
- Post real, currently-open positions — no “evergreen” listings used only to harvest CVs.
- Treat applicants fairly and respond to every applicant who completes the test stage.
- Comply with anti-discrimination laws in the country where the role is based.
- Pay any agreed placement, subscription, or platform fees on time.
- Use candidate data only to evaluate them for the specific role they applied to.
9. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its UI, code, brand, and content we author, is owned by JobRemotely and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the Service per these Terms.
You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of our proprietary materials without written permission.
10. Third-party services
The Service integrates with third parties (Stripe for payments, Google for sign-in, Resend/Brevo for email). Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services beyond reasonable diligence in selecting them.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT, EXCEPT WHERE PROHIBITED BY APPLICABLE LAW.
We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. We aim for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee it.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JOBREMOTELY AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR USD 100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS LIABILITY FOR GROSS NEGLIGENCE, WILFUL MISCONDUCT, OR ANY LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold JobRemotely harmless from any claim, loss, or damage arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.
14. Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., IP, liability, governing law) will survive.
15. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and the country where JobRemotely is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction. Consumers may also bring claims in their country of residence where required by mandatory local law.
Before formal proceedings, please contact us at legal@jobboard.app — we will work to resolve the matter in good faith within 30 days.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When changes are material we will notify you by email or in-product banner at least 30 days before the new Terms take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
