This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in WordPress development, custom theme development, plugin development, PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, AJAX, responsive design, and website performance optimization.
As a WordPress Developer, you will build and maintain WordPress websites, develop custom themes and plugins, integrate third-party plugins, migrate websites from other platforms, optimize page speed, and implement SEO and CRO best practices across WordPress sites.

WordPress Developer Responsibilities
As a WordPress Developer, your duties will include:
Developing and maintaining WordPress websites
Developing custom WordPress themes and plugins
Migrating websites from other platforms to WordPress
Integrating and setting up plugins such as WPML, WooCommerce, Membership plugins, and similar tools
Building WordPress sites that are manageable from the admin panel
Optimizing WordPress websites for page speed, performance, SEO, and conversion rate optimization
Fetching data from the WordPress backend using tools such as WPGraphQL or the WordPress REST API
Transforming complex PSD layouts into pixel-perfect HTML5/CSS3 templates
Creating responsive, cross-browser-compatible website designs
Working with version control systems such as Git or SVN
Working under tight deadlines while maintaining quality and accuracy
Managing multiple projects and tasks at the same time
Producing high-quality work with a strong focus on detail
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in WordPress development
Strong knowledge of the WordPress platform
Expertise in WordPress custom theme development and plugin development
Expertise in WordPress plugin integration, including WooCommerce, WPML, Membership plugins, and similar tools
Understanding of how to make WordPress manageable from the admin panel
Strong understanding of WordPress architecture
Ability to perform database and code optimization for WordPress
Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, and AJAX
Ability to work in a LAMP development environment
Experience fetching data from the WordPress backend using WPGraphQL or the WordPress REST API
Strong understanding of responsive web design techniques
Thorough understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues
Understanding of W3C web standards, semantic HTML, and accessibility guidelines
Ability to work on multiple projects and tasks at the same time
Great attention to detail and a highly organized work style
Positive, upbeat attitude with the ability to learn quickly
Excellent written and spoken English skills
Ability to adapt to a diverse and multicultural remote work environment
Availability to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time
Reliable remote workstation, including a fast computer, microphone, speakers, reliable internet, and reliable power
Preferred Skills
The following experience is preferred but not required:
Experience with ReactJS or AngularJS
Experience with BigCommerce, Magento, and Shopify

Compensation
For candidates located in California, New York, Washington, and Colorado, the starting base pay for this position ranges from $17 to $35 per hour. Compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills test performance, geographic location, and seniority of the position offered. For candidates outside of California, New York, Washington, and Colorado, compensation may fall outside the listed range.
